The Modane train station, located just 5 km from the resort, is served by high-speed trains and TER regional trains:
- Direct TGV from Paris (about 4 hours)
- Easy access from Lyon (2.5 hours) and Chambéry (1 hour)
- Regular trains year-round
Once you arrive, you're just a few minutes away from your destination.
From Modane Station to La Norma
There are several ways to easily get to the station from the train station.Once you arrive by train, there are several options for easily getting to Aussois.
Bus from Modane to La Norma
The La Norma route La Norma served by the S51 line:
- Departure from Modane Station
- Direct access to La Norma
- Quick trip: about 15 minutes

Bus included with 6-day + ski passes
Unlimited access to the S50, S51, S52, and S53 buses, which serve the entire region from Modane, is included with your La Norma or longer ski pass from Sunday through Friday!
Please note: for safety reasons (speed of evacuation), you cannot keep your ski or snowboard boots on your feet on buses S50, S51, S52 and S53. You can put them in the hold with your ski/snowboard and poles. Cross-country ski boots allowed.

In winter, buses run to all the villages in Haute Maurienne Vanoise, allowing visitors to enjoy the slopes, snowshoe trails, and winter activities.
- The La Norma ski pass provides access to the neighboring Valfréjus ski area: bus transportation is included from Tuesday through Friday (departure from the roundabout at the resort entrance)
- To get to Aussois, take Line F
The Haute Maurienne bus network makes it easy to get around the entire valley.

Getting around without a car in the summer
Do everything on foot or by bike
There are many activities you can enjoy without having to drive:
- Hiking trails start right at the resort
- Access to the trails in Vanoise National Park
- Mountain Bike Trails and Nature Walks
- Fun activities: Norma Loops (year-round sledding), Escape Game, water park, horseback riding center. La Norma a kid’s paradise!
Haute Maurienne Bus
The transit system makes getting around easier:
- Take Line 1 to explore the Saint-Benoît Waterfall. Get off at the Avrieux Centre stop, then follow the Sentier de l’Eau trail on foot for 30 minutes to reach the waterfall. You can also explore the unspoiled valleys of Polset and Orgère.
- Access to the other villages (Aussois, Val-Cenis, Bessans, and Bonneval) by taking Line 1 down to Modane, then transferring to Line S52-S53
- Direct connection to Modane Station via Line 1
