The Saint Benoît chapel, opposite the waterfall of the same name, dates back to the 11th century. Constantly enlarged, its interior decoration dates from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Description

A major building in the commune of Avrieux, the Saint Benoît chapel is well worth a visit for its history and décor. Probably built around the 11th century, the chapel was enlarged until the 20th century, and features an 18th-century decoration by a local priest and a 19th-century stencil decoration. A place of pilgrimage, it is home to hundreds of different ex-votos.
