Come and challenge yourself on the Orgère ascent, on a road closed to motorized vehicles except VAEs. 9.92 km to reach one of the "gates" of the Vanoise National Park.

Description

From Saint-André, follow the signs for the Parc national de la Vanoise. The climb takes you through a remarkable forest before reaching the alpine pastures and the Orgère refuge.

The climb is quite difficult, with many passages above 9%. However, there are a number of short flat areas where you can take a breath. Despite the difficulty, the climb is well worth it for the breathtaking panorama at the summit.

The Haute Maurienne Vanoise Cyclo Challenge consists of 6 climbs, each more unique than the last.

The Orgère climb is 9.92 km long, from the intersection above Saint André to the Orgère refuge. It totals 767m D+.

How does the HMV Cyclo Challenge work?
Add up the altitude difference of each climb and pass the different levels *.

Each participant will be able to register on site, at the start of the climb, and will receive an HMV Cyclo Challenge support which will enable him/her to accumulate the vertical gradients of each of the 6 climbs in the area: L'Iserane, Mont Cenis, Aussois, l'Orgère, Valfréjus and Bellecombe.
Some climbs can be done several times if you feel up to it!

3 suggested objectives:

Bronze level: Achieve 1,000 m cumulative vertical drop
Silver level: Reach 2,000 m of cumulative vertical drop
Gold level : 3,000 m cumulative vertical drop

At each level, win goodies from our partners.

Then enter the draw to win the grand prize!
--> Bronze level: your name will appear 1 time,
--> Silver level: your name will appear 2 times,
--> Gold level: your name will appear 3 times!

Push yourself and try to accumulate the most vertical drop!

* Participation in the HMV Cyclo Challenge is not compulsory. You can take part in the cycle touring climb on closed roads without being registered.

The D106 road will be closed to motorized vehicles from 5.00 pm to 8.00 pm.
