Description

Fort Saint-Gobain is a major fortification on the Maginot Line in the Alps. Built between 1933 and 1939, upstream from Modane on the right bank of the Arc River, its primary mission was to block access to the Maurienne Valley via the Mont-Cenis Pass road and the railroad. It has been fully restored by the Musée de la Traversée des Alpes. Immerse yourself in the lives of the 150 soldiers, who operated infantry and artillery weapons while living in complete self-sufficiency for three months.
