Guided tour by members of the Association du Musée de la Traversée des Alpes. Fort Saint-Gobain is an important fortification in the Maginot Line of the Alps.
Bring warm clothing for the visit.
Built between 1933 and 1939, upstream from Modane on the right bank of the Arc River, its main mission was to block access to the Maurienne Valley via the Col du Mont-Cenis road and the railroad.
It has been fully restored by members of the Musée de la Traversée des Alpes (MTA) association.
